Chapter 7 Season 4 received its first major content drop on September 3, 2026. The v42.10 update added five new base companions and introduced the Loot Hacker variant system — a new category of collectible sprites found in high and mountainous areas.
The patch also tweaked existing sprites: detection radius on X-Ray grows faster per level, and several Loot Hacker variants are marked as unreleased pending future activation. Here is every new sprite, its rarity, ability, and whether it is live in-game right now.

New base sprites
Five base sprites joined the live loot pool. X-Ray is the standout legendary — it periodically marks nearby enemies on your screen, and the detection radius increases each time you level it up. Mega Man is a rare companion that reduces sliding friction so you can slide farther across the map. Overshield grants a shield buffer on top of your regular HP, with the amount growing at each level. Onigiri triggers an Overdrive speed burst after you use a consumable item. And Storm Scout activates Overdrive after you take storm damage, with a max-level bonus that reveals future Storm Circle positions.
The Loot Hacker system
Loot Hacker variants are separate sprites — not alternate skins of existing ones. Each Loot Hacker spawns in high-elevation areas and has a single variant tier. Most are currently marked as unreleased in the game data, meaning Epic has added them to the files but has not yet enabled them in live matches. Loot Hacker Crown is the exception: it is available now and tracks a modified version of the Crown sprite's win-progression ability.
Loot Hacker sprites share the same roster slot as their base counterpart — for example, Loot Hacker X-Ray and X-Ray are both tied to the X-Ray companion, but they occupy separate cells on the tracker. This means you can own both and track them independently.
How to track v42.10 sprites
Open the tracker on the home page. The new sprites appear in the "New Sprites" sidebar and are marked with a NEW badge in the main grid. Mark each one as Owned once you extract it, then star Mastered when you hit the in-game mastery level. Use Hunt Mode to see only the v42.10 sprites you are still missing.
